Jennifer Benton is a leader in her industry. Her 21 year career was inspired attending Cosmetology school through the R.O.P. program while still enrolled at McClatchy high school, Jennifer began her career at the age of only 18. While in school, Jennifer had the good fortune to meet Salvador, owner and creator of Mega Hair extensions and has strived to stay ahead of trends and become an industry leader. His innovative hair extension system opened her eyes to the possibilities of hairdressing and reminded her that dreams are limitless.
While it was the glitz and glamour that first attracted her, the opportunity to improve someone's confidence and ultimately change their lives, quickly became the driving force behind her successful career. Her desire to make everyone FEEL like a movie star outweighed her desire to work on actual movie stars and she stayed local, working in the Sacramento area for the extent of her career. "Sacramento has proven to be the best of both worlds. I get to raise my children in the community where I grew up and still take an active role in the excitement of local filmmaking, stage productions, and photo shoots."
Jennifer's goals have always been clear, to own and operate her own salon where talented professionals could experience creative freedom in a clean, stimulating environment and clients left looking and feeling better than when they arrived. After working in a myriad of salons, gathering expertise along the way, Jennifer became part owner of her first salon, Nathan Michaels Salon in 2000. Looking for a more powerful way to give back to her stylists and her community Jennifer decided in 2007 it was time to branch out and founded Artisan Salon, with co-owners Jason Williams and Carol Hernandez. "Moving to Land Park has been a pivotal point in my career and we feel like we are home. Working, living and raising children in the same community feels like a dream come true. What Artisan brings to Land Park, in addition to innovative hairstyles, is an extension of the community feel. We are the local hairdressers who know you, care about you, and are passionate about helping you be your best."
